The development of multimedia services will really take off with the advent of UMTS in around 2003.

 

 

A billion people will have mobile phones by 2004. A third will use them to log on to the Internet.

These services are currently faltering. Invoicing of calltime by time spent and the speed are major handicaps. The arrival of GPRS in 2001 should improve the quality of services proposed and lead to invoicing per operation or by volume.
