How to use this flood of information and communication in the best possible manner? One of the answers lies in personalisation.
In this new universe, I create a sphere of information and communication, a personalised universe, which allows me to find the same environment on all terminals, my favourite sites and my professional, personal and cultural communities.
The Internet also offers me ";intelligent resources", ready to scour the network on my behalf. I delegate my preferences: I am advised of the next concerts by my favourite group, I receive personal information, etc. I have all the information on the Internet, while preserving my personal, family, social and professional environment. I permanently exist on the network in several forms and change form whenever I wish.
Communications are simpler, information more accessible and everyone controls his path across the network.
Over and above infrastructure problems (the world bandwidth needs to be multiplied by 50 in 5 years) and content problems, even if vital, it is this new idea of society, this new vision, that of a customer, which is at the core of new-generation Internet.

The Internet of the near future means being able to log on anywhere and therefore
be able to use a wide range of terminals: mobiles, PDAs, electronic tablets,
e-books, televisions, games consoles and professional or home laptop computers.
New interfaces with the Net will appear on our walls, clothes, cars, in the street and in public transport facilities: "connectability everywhere".
