Jeff, Marina and their daughter Eléna, travelling in the French Alps, reserved their e-guide, about the same size as a personal organizer. They pre-programmed their areas of interest on the portal. They picked it up just before their rented car at the airport of St Exupéry.

On the road to Chamonix, e-Guide recommended a stop-off at a restaurant in Annecy: the satellite guiding system took them there without a hitch. As no-one spoke French, they were also glad for the simultaneous translation facility which translated the menu in the restaurant.

The next day, at the cable-car station, Jeff and Marina couldn't resist the Aiguille du Midi, taking them half-way up Mont Blanc. Their monitor, with his own Professional e-Guide, used the system to draw up a visit log and take pictures. They were able to send them to their family back home by e-mail. Stan, back in the States, wouldn't want to miss any of this. So they sent him the whole panorama, live…!

Jeff and Marina had to cancel their visit to the Mer de Glace glacier. Their monitor's e-guide said they would have to wait a while because of an "imminent storm". The e-guide then suggested other things to do, so they booked two seats at a concert, online.

In the evening while looking at her parent's visit log, Elena wanted to make her own trip up to famous "needle" peak... She went off to visit Mont Blanc, without forgetting her e-guide and the special "hikers" facility. Using the high-flow network or dedicated modules, Elena sent her day log to her parents. In the mountain refuge, they used the e-guide to choose a film that same evening
